Down Time

h1 Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Just a quick post to let y’all know that my blog may be down for awhile as it’s being moved to a new server tomorrow!

“Uh-uh, no way, I am not moving, and neither are you.”

FINALLY!!!

h1 Monday, February 18th, 2008

It took a week and a half, but my blog is back… I started one at Wordpress, but I didn’t like it. I like THIS Wordpress blog. I like being able to code my own HTML and not have it wiped out when I save it. I like being able to see what I’m posting before I publish it (for some reason, I wasn’t able to over there… it showed me a few lines at a time only). I like having FTP access and the ability to fiddle around with things the way I want them, and I mostly don’t want to re-post years of archives and photos! I still don’t know why this was down for so long, and I’m really sorry… I’m sure I lost readers over all this time that they were hitting “page can not be displayed”. Those that emailed me and my “regulars” will know it’s back up. :D

I’ll post a real entry tomorrow!

I’m Beeeeehind!!

Seriously, I have to update more often so I don’t find myself in this position where I have soooooooo much to talk about, it takes me three friggin’ days to complete the entry and upload all the photos and video and stuff. I’ve been working on an entry forEVER it seems, and it’s still not ready, because I need to add all the linkage in the body and upload the first batch of photos and unload the second batch of photos off my camera and blah blah blah.

It’s coming, and it’s long. Heh.

Not to mention that almost every time I go to work on an entry, the server for my blog is down. :(

And by the way, thanks so much to the Donna who made that comment at Blog Interview… we’ve never *met* and I wasn’t aware of you as a reader (like many other lurkers, I’m sure) and I really appreciated your comment!! That was so nice. Made my day, thanks :D

Update From Shawna

h1 Friday, July 28th, 2006

Hi Everyone! I’m posting an update for Donna from her computer. So Wednesday she wasn’t feeling good and then on Thursday when she came home she felt even worse. After trying everything to feel better she finally thought she should go to the hospital. The verdict…..inflamed Gall Bladder! So she is currently in the hospital awaiting surgery and she asked that I post an update in her absence. So there you have it. She finally gets to go home only to go back to the hospital! Hopefully she’ll be feeling better soon.

MeMe

I decided to work in the afternoon at the pub on Tuesday, because I wanted to be there for supper and to catch the Songwriters Association’s monthly meeting, as they always break out into playing a few tunes and I wanted to watch/listen. While eating dinner, I overheard Marcus (bartender) telling someone that SAC meets somewhere else now. I asked him about that, and he told me they decided to switch to some coffee house in the Northwest that was non-smoking and allowed kids. Drat. So, I finished up my food and then called a cab to go home. While waiting, Nancy and Twila from SAC arrived and told Marcus they were there just for supper and then heading to their meeting. They taped a sign to the door telling people where the new meeting location was and sat down to order. I asked them about the new location, and chatted with them a bit. Read the rest of this entry »

A Questionnaire That Took Me Forever To Complete

h1 Thursday, November 4th, 2004

As seen at Robyn’s. Spread the love by copying and pasting in yours (with your own answers, silly):

1. Your name spelled backwards: Annod

2. Where were your parents born? Both of my parents were born in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

3. What is the last thing you downloaded onto your computer? Jakalope’s “Pretty Life” video.

4. What’s your favorite restaurant? Hmmm there are so many!! I love the Olive Garden and Moxie’s, because there are certain things on their menus I LOVE that I can’t get anywhere else. I like most of the chain restaurants (Earl’s, Joey Tomatoes, Keg) and I have a couple favourite little places like Mekong for Vietnamese and Curbside in Bridgeland for pizza and greasy stuff (that’s no longer there! Wah!) plus some Greek and Lebanese places.

5. Last time you swam in a pool? This past summer in the outdoor pool at my apartment building.

6. Have you ever been in a school play? Hmmm I don’t think I acted in a play… I certainly sang in the choir off to the side though! Read the rest of this entry »

Hair Update

h1 Friday, September 10th, 2004

Ghazi burst my bubble when he started talking about his ex and their daughter. ACK!!! He’s not gay!!!

That’s okay, he is forgiven, ’cause he does great hair. I love it! Donna has funky hair for once in her life!

Heading out to show it off now with the girls. Ciao! :D

Updates!

h1 Friday, August 20th, 2004

I was reading over some past entries and I realized I should do some updating because I know you’re all dying to know the outcomes of things I’ve written about. Well, I am here to ease your troubled minds ;)

Releasing The Need - July 23

Ohhh I have lived yet another example of ‘when someone shows you who they are, believe them’? Someone showed me who they are a few months ago, and I didn’t believe them. I’ve had a funny feeling ever since, but I pushed it aside and told myself I was just being silly. I even pushed the gut feelings away when they were really strong last month and I was panicking about it. I had myself convinced it would be okay and to not worry about it. Well, luckily, it all came to a head now and not later, and it’s all good. Great, actually. Took me a few months, but I finally realized what my gut was telling me was right (again, as always, hellooooooooo McFly, anyone home???) Oh yes, and the karmic energy?? Getting better every day!! :D

He Said- - July 23

Never heard a peep from this guy, as I expected (although deep down I hoped it would be different). I was bummed at the time, but I rarely think about it anymore. Funny how that happens when you’re busy! C’est la vie, life goes on.

House Concerts - July 30

I passed the name of the guy who held this house concert on to Jim Bryson, who has already made contact. Hopefully Jim will be performing there in the future! I’ll let you all know if he is. It was a great time, and it will be a blast if Jim does one too! He’s awesome, and so funny too. I love his self-deprecating humour…

Untitled Day in the life entry (Can’t link ‘em if they’re not titled… oops) - July 30

I bought my chair! It’s like this, but it’s black and it’s Roots! :D

Back on Track - August 2

Well I know I went OFF track the days Dana was here with Krispy Kreme, Purdy’s, Olive Garden, Santa Fe Grill, etc. but I’m doing good again. In fact, I have made a conscious choice to make sure I am as healthy as I possibly can be for my trip to Toronto next month, so I have been mostly eating fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains and lean meats. I am waiting for the sugar withdrawals to kick in and make me crazy, but so far so good.

Shocking, horrifying and unimaginable - August 13

Google is Good - August 16

I never heard back from those bands about Sean (I am assuming they or he read my email and thought -WHY?… psycho!) but I am 100% positive he has got to be in The Shovels. It was entertaining for me to reminisce though, and Googling him gave me a fun way to procrastinate my business plan, but I think I’ll leave it at that! If he had responded out of curiosity, I would have tried my best to remind him who I was and how we met (maybe just send him here to read the entry!) but since he didn’t I
ll leave it alone and just look back fondly on that experience. Oh, and if ‘The Shovels’ ever tour out here I’ll surely go see them!

Update on the update - just received an email from Random Killing, a really nice one actually, and this guy said Sean recently quit the place he was working at so he’s going to ask the other clowns about contact info. He told me Sean is in a band called “Dodge Fiasco” with his brother (personally I think that is outdated information, being the Internet Search Queen I am), and if I can find their email, it would go to his brother because Sean doesn’t know how to work a computer. LOL! I’ve also heard from another guy that is going to pass my email address on to Sean via his brother, and “we’ll see what we can do about getting him in front of a computer”. Hee!

People? People Who Need People - - August 19

Okay I know this was just yesterday, so how much could have possibly happened to update? Well not much, really, but I mentioned the “money coming from somewhere” thing? and #1) a client just dropped off a LOAD of work for me tonight; and #2) I got a call out of the blue from CIBC Visa, ‘you have been pre-approved blah blah blah…’ for once I listened to the whole spiel. I signed up for the card, had my interview, got approved on the spot and ‘your card will be there in 7-10 days’. Okay, okay, I KNOW a Visa card isn’t the answer and will only land me in further debt (my other Visa? Over its limit, thankyouverymuch) but for my trip??? COULD NOT have come at a better time. One of my main concerns was making enough money to plop on my Visa to get it under its limit so I’d have room for my hotel and a few other things in Toronto. (I mean, credit card debt really is a way of life for me, I don’t sweat it). Now I don’t have to worry!!! I still intend on making more actual CASH between now and then, but maybe now I won’t have to ask a couple clients for advances like I was going to. This timing totally rocks. This trip and all the plans surrounding it is working out so freakin’ awesome I could just explode!!! :D :D :D
