My Lazy Ass

I was supposed to go swimming today but I cancelled for no reason other than I just didn’t want to get up early and go. I fear I am getting lazy again. To make up for it, I will take my walker outside and WALK to the mall to get my latte. I was going to do that yesterday, but I remembered I needed some stuff from Wal-Mart, and that is too far for me to go by foot. But to the Food Court, that I know I can do if I get off my lazy butt.
AH has been taping movies from his Pay-Per-View and dropping them by so I can watch them. That’s a really super thoughtful gesture, because he knows I rarely get to the theatres, and there is nowhere around here for me to rent movies from. I’ve been doing the mail order DVD rental thing for awhile, which is great, but I still find myself without a movie to watch quite often as I am waiting for the next couple to arrive in the mail.
AH needs to learn that some movies are longer than two hours, and that there is nothing wrong with taping on EP speed. I was watching The 40 year Old Virgin on Tuesday night (Happy Valentine’s Day!) and right at the moment following his accident when he finally told the girl he is a virgin, THE TAPE CUT OUT. Then, then, last night I am watching The Island with rrrrowr Ewen McGregor and Scarlett Johansson, and right at the moment that the black cop decides to help her and “open the door!” and Tom Lincoln is about to shut everything down but then he is shot in the legs or something and OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT the tape cut out. ARGH!
I managed to download the second half of 40 Year Old Virgin and watch the last few minutes on my computer. AH told me how The Island ended, but I still might get the DVD to watch for myself. That was a much better movie than I was expecting it to be.
I am back in Neopets again. I used to have an account there a couple years ago with four pets and was totally into it, to the point of serious addiction and I had to cut myself off. I abandoned all my pets at the adoption agency, ignoring their cries and begging, gave away all my items (I reached a million Neopoints, and that was a fun shopping spree), and never looked back. Recently, however, I have been wanting to play some of the games in there. But that’s all I want to do. So, I created a new account and made one pet just so I can go in and play games. You need to keep your pet fed and happy and blah blah blah but I can’t be bothered, all I want to do is play Destruct-O-Match and Ice Cream Machine and the pet can die for all I care. So, what I do is ship her off to the Neo Lodge for a month at a time where she is fed and pampered and I don’t need to worry about her.
If you have ever wondered why I don’t have kids, you can stop wondering now.

Only have to be able to get to your mailbox to rent movies that way. It’s pretty handy if one can afford it… and has a credit card to bill to. (Looks like CAN$25/mo. for their typical plan, but you can have out 4 DVDs at a time and the postage is paid both ways for up to 11 DVDs per month…)
I was renting movies left, right, and center for a while last year. I’ll bet I spent at least $50/mo renting movies during that time. But it was better than sitting around contemplating my navel for hours at a time.
Yeah, I do use DVDflix.ca, but it still takes about 4 days to mail there and 4 days to get one mailed back (Canada Post ROCKS, man!) and I don’t want to pay for more than the basic membership (3 DVDs at a time). Sometimes it’s quite awhile before you get a movie you really want to see, new and popular releases especially, so AH is kind of filling in the blanks a bit.
Neopets are the ODDEST thing-I don’t really know anything about them. Many of my students have them and bring them to the lesson. It seems that everytime they DO, their neopet dies-so I have a feeling it has something to do with me..lol With all these dying neopets around me, I am starting to take it personally!!
I used to have a Neopet ages ago but it died boo lol but anyways Lisa there is such a toy called “Tamagotchi” so maybe that’s what you’re referring to? it’s kind of like neopet’s where you have to feed and care for it.
