Flippin’ Sweet!

h1 Sunday, June 26th, 2005

I have been receiving some nice emails from readers of my blog lately. Usually they are from people with MS or who have someone in their family with MS. This blog isn’t exactly about MS, but as a person that lives with it, I can’t help but mention it sometimes or how it’s affecting me in my day to day life. Like these days… BLAH is all I have to say!!

This lead me to look again at the most popular search phrases that people are using to stumble upon my blog. I was expecting to see the words “multiple sclerosis” in there somewhere, but they’re actually not! I am, however, still VERY AMUSED by some of these phrases and feel the need to share some with you again: Read the rest of this entry »

I Love Falafels!!

h1 Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

My email inbox is empty. It is EMPTY!! I give it 5 minutes before something comes in I have to deal with (30 seconds for spam, but I’m not counting that right now).

So, what’s new in my world? Not much, really. I think I’m done with “going out” for at least a week. My body is none too happy with me right now. After Shawna’s visit I didn’t slow down much and went out with the boys on Wednesday, the girls on Saturday, the family on Sunday and work in between. The rain didn’t help either… it’s just depressing and makes me feel crappy too! Yesterday I sat in the sun for a long time and that really helped. In fact, yesterday I was feeling so cruddy, and my friend Christine wanted to get together. I was in no mood mentally or physically to do much of anything. So what does she do?? Takes the bus to my new Favourite Restaurant on Earth… Aida’s Mediterranean Bistro… picks up several orders of falafels, hommus and tabbouli, and gets back on the bus and C-train and brings it over. THAT MAKES HER A SAINT. We had a delicious meal (and I’ve got lots of leftovers for today!) and then sat in the sun. It was lovely and Christine is one great friend, let me tell you, people like her don’t come along every day. Good friends can pull you through anything! I’m lucky to have so many I know I can count on. Read the rest of this entry »

Damn you Kelly Clarkson, damn you! I am so addicted to your “Breakaway” CD I don’t know what’s gotten into me. When did you become THIS good!?!?

The Week in Review

h1 Sunday, June 12th, 2005

Well, well, well… where to begin with the events of the past week. Hee! Fun? Oh, yeah, we had fun. Lots of fun.

It all started when AH picked me up to go get Shawna from the airport last Saturday. I had asked him a few days before if he had a friend that we could double date with this week… every time Shawna is here, we see the same group of people, and wouldn’t it be nice to have a night out with a couple guys and do something different?? (No offence to the “regulars”. You know what I mean!) So, yeah, AH mentioned he was free that night and I suggested he call his friend and we all go out.

So Shawna got to meet AH you guys, the first to meet him, hopefully not the last…? After getting Shawna we came back here and threw in my Polyjesters DVD and much to my very pleasant surprise, AH stayed and watched it with us and laughed his ass off. What a way to get in my good books! When AH left he said he’d be back around 7:00 with his friend.

And, so he was. As Shawna and I approached the van, out popped AH’s friend (Billy! His name is Billy! Ahahahaha), and he was cute! Yay! Score. The four of us went to a pub for a couple drinks and to watch some sort of world championship fighting we didn’t know was on, but could not escape (so you may as well enjoy it, right?) AH and I kicked butt betting on who the winners would be. Heh.

Then we came back here and figured we’d throw in a movie, and chose Dumb and Dumber so we wouldn’t have to really concentrate on it and wouldn’t feel bad talking over it. Now, when AH and I first discussed the kinds of movies we liked, I remember telling him I like comedies, romance, action/adventure kind of stuff (I didn’t get into the fact that the types of comedies I like are pretty goofy and usually involve Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler; he could face those details another day). He told me he likes romance and mystery; no mention of comedy. I was thinking, well, I guess I won’t be watching Will Ferrell movies with him, which is a sad thought, because that kind of humour is really a big part of who I am!! Whether that is good or bad! Well, AH knew practically every line from Dumb and Dumber and was laughing out loud and knee slapping the whole movie. Yaaaaaaay!! I’ve found a goofball. We are so going to see Bewitched. (OMG I can’t wait for that!!)

On Sunday Shawna and I spent most of the day being giddy about the night before (Yay for cute boys! Hee!) before joining Michelle for dinner at the Santa Fe Grill. Monday… Shawna had a meeting in the morning and then met up with Billy that night. Tuesday… I took Shawna with me to my chiropractor’s and we had lunch at a restaurant near there that makes, in my opinion, about the best pizza in Calgary. That night, Billy and AH came to take us to the movies… I wanted to take AH to see Hitch (I have seen it before and knew he would love it. Which he did! And he didn’t even pull his hand away from mine during all that “loooove” talk ahahahaha) and those two saw Miss Congeniality 2.

So, are we seeing a trend here? Shawna and Billy, Billy, Billy. It was very cool the way those two hit it off so quickly and saw as much of each other as humanly possible during the week, squeezed in between other things we had planned. He called her a lot and it’s pretty obvious “he is into her“, so I guess time will tell if anything continues on after her return to Winnipeg! Go Shawna, go Shawna, go Shawna! ;) Read the rest of this entry »

Bring on the Holiday!

h1 Saturday, June 4th, 2005

I figured I better get in here and make an update, I may not get a chance to do one again for another week. My friend Shawna arrives from Winnipeg today to stay with me until next Saturday (3rd visit in a year, do you think she likes it here? Heh) We’ve got some fun things planned (including the Polyjesters show with friends on Friday! Woot!) and the dates worked so that I can take the week off from my clients (especially now that I quit that big one) so this is my holiday too! I’m really looking forward to it. AH is taking me to the airport to pick her up, and any excuse to see him is a good one, no? Thank you Michelle for your understanding in this matter ;) Read the rest of this entry »
