My-Blog-is-Back Babbling!

h1 May 7th, 2005

My blog has been down for days and days and days as it was moved to a new server. You would think I would have spent all this time thinking of one HELL of a great entry to make my comeback with. HA! Truth is, my week has been pretty boring.

I worked a lot and chatted on MSN a lot. The highlight of my week (aside from the nightly chats with AH ;) ) was that I finally gave my notice to my biggest client. Quitting him has been in the back of my mind and gnawing at my gut for months now, I just kept putting it off because the money is good and he really is a very, very nice man. There were just so many factors that made me dread going there every week. So I finally decided life is too short to be miserable about anything, and I let him know I was leaving. I’ll still go there another 4-5 more times to finish up some major things and get him as up to date as possible, and even train a new person (I hope he hires someone good, I am not an accounting teacher! I don’t mind showing someone how I ran certain things, but I don’t want to teach anyone Simply Accounting or what these things called “journal entries”, “debits” and “credits” are).

I’m not worried about finding another major client to replace him. These things always have a way of working out. He came along when I needed him the most, and so will someone else. Whenever we go with our gut it’s the right thing, so I’m not worried!

It’s Mother’s Day tomorrow plus we are celebrating my birthday. My mom’s birthday is also coming up. AH and I went shopping today and picked out some great stuff, including wedding presents for some friends. I’m all set! Then we went for coffee. It was a perfect afternoon, even though the sky was grey and my hair didn’t work out the way I wanted. I was with a guy so gorgeous he makes me tremble, and who wore blue because I told him it was my favourite colour a couple days ago. No complaints from me!!

I am loving my DVDflix membership. I have finally seen both Spiderman movies! I loved them. I watched Monster the other night. Charlize Theron was so good in that role, but if you are watching it for anything other than the acting, it’s not that great. The story is very disturbing. I’ve got Hotel Rwanda here yet to watch and The Notebook on its way. Finding Neverland is at the top of my rental list, but I guess Johnny Depp that movie is too hot and hasn’t been available when they’re shipping my next one :(

I read Go Fug Yourself every day because that shit cracks me UP. My favourite section has got to be the Britney Spears highlights. Good Lord, that girl needs some serious help.

I want to know why nobody bought me THIS for my birthday.

The latest season of The Bachelor is almost over and I made it through without watching one single episode!! I am so over that show.

I have decided I am definitely attending the Folk Festival this year. I’m going to buy a 4-day pass the day they go on sale, no ifs ands or buts. I can get an attendant in for free because I’ll be in my wheelchair, and there is no way in hell I am missing it this year. I know for sure that Danny Michel will be there and that alone is worth the price of admission. I hope we get Arlene Bishop again and Jim Bryson and Hawksley Workman this year… Edmonton had those guys last year. I WANT THEM TOO!

So anyway, that was my exciting week. I’m off to wrap presents and daydream.

  1. Ooooooo so your man has graduated to “AH” ;) I love it! :)

  2. I’m back from the T-dot and I would comment something fabulous if my cat wasn’t jumping all over me and digging her dear little claws into my back and if it also wasn’t 7:16 in the morning.

Sounds like your week was pretty decent, go Donna, go Donna, go go go go…

  3. Donna, you always have something to inspire me. Awhile back I copied your idea of sponsoring a foster child. Now I read about you giving notice to your client without having a replacement all ready to go and that makes me think about quitting my job. While I’ve been thinking about it for awhile, and have even said, “I will quit this summer whether I’ve found something else or not.” But the thought of quitting without having something else all ready to go is a little scary. (LOL, okay, more than a little!!!) But you’re right - life is too short to be miserable!

  4. isn’t she fab?

  5. #1: He is NOT “my man” Lisa!!! STOP THAT :P

#2: I just believe your gut is always right and things work out the way they’re supposed to. Take that to mean whatever you want for your own life… but trust your gut and your instincts and the fact that, yeah, life is too short to keep doing that dance you don’t want to be doing…

#3: You guys are so sweet ;)

  6. donna, you should write a book!

  7. LOL, don’t worry. I won’t suddenly quit my job and blame you. ;-)

  8. Hahaha yes I guess that sounded like a bit of a “disclaimer” didn’t it! ;)

  9. That is ok Michelle, quit your job so that Donna will hire you and I to go and be her chaperone on her dates-you KNOW how naughty she gets when we aren’t watching her ;) hee!

  10. What server did you move to?
