Random Thoughts

I haven’t felt like updating my blog lately, my life has been about work and feeling crappy and it;s all a little overwhelming and stressful. It’s Easter Sunday and I’ve already had two clients come by today and when my family is here later for dinner, I have to get my mom to help me with the handwritten part of a project I need to finish for another client. Bah.

Thankfully, most of dinner is being brought over prepared by my mom and my brother is bringing a turkey. We hold family gatherings here lately because my home is in the middle, and nobody drives except Bob. My only duty is usually to make sure my apartment isn’t a mess and that I have clean dishes available. Oh, that reminds me, I better run the dishwasher!

I’m sad that Paul Hester (former drummer with Split Enz/Crowded House) committed suicide. Crowded House was one of my favourite bands from the 80’s. I’ve had “Don’t Dream it’s Over” running through my head all day since hearing that.

I have decided I am going to say something to that Hot Access Calgary driver. Just, you know, a hint that it would be cool to talk sometime outside of the cab because we really seem to enjoy talking to each other, and give him my number. I made this decision because I was told by another driver that they’re afraid to ask clients out or anything because if it makes the client uncomfortable, we can call Access and report it and they can lose their jobs. So I feel it is my duty to let him know I’d like to see him and then leave the ball in his court. Of course, since I have made this decision, he hasn’t been my driver. And this is why I want him to have my number; so I don’t have to wait until he just happens to be the driver sent to me that day. I mean, I only saw him 3 times in 3 years and then after we hit it off so well at the end of December, he did show up more frequently, but it’s still hit and miss. Not to say that if he has my number and knows I want to see him he will call… but it would ease my mind because I would have done what I can. I hope he picks me up during one of my few trips this week; I am getting really tired of fussing with my hair and make-up more than usual every morning “just in case”. Then I get the gum-cracking driver that makes my skin crawl. Ewwwww

Ohhh and AH (Access Hottie) drives the exact same kind of cab Bob drove when he first met/picked up my mom. Like mother like daughter?? In this case, I sure hope so! ;)

I went out for dinner with my friend Christine last week. We had tea. (We had more than just tea, but the rest has nothing to do with this). They had the CUTEST teapots I have ever seen!!! I was so wishing I had a bigger purse ha ha!. I saw one of the owners at the bar (whom I have known since Junior High) and clutching the teapot in my arms, I asked him where they get them. He said I can’t get them myself (spoilsport), he orders them from a supplier in Ontario. He said “they’re $35. Is that expensive?” I said “yes, for a little restaurant teapot! It must cost you a fortune because I am sure people walk out with them all the time.” He said they have lost a few, but they watch carefully. “Right now, there are 3 staff watching your every move with that teapot”. He also told me he would get me one for my birthday which is coming up, but I don’t for one second believe him. If he meant that he would have just given it to me on the spot. I have been frequenting his establishments for years, and he always sees me at them and knows I’m a regular, and he has known me since junior high, and he hasn’t so much as bought me a drink. A $35 teapot? I don’t think so. As we were leaving, he stopped me to ask where the teapot was. I pointed back at the table where I left it in its proper place. Geesh.

I just may go back there on my birthday and demand my teapot. I have searched high and low on the internet for a picture that resembles it, but I can’t find one. Think Ikea stylish, silver, and it doesn’t spill when you pour (a first for a restaurant teapot). I want one!!!

I did a friend’s tax return and in exchange for that 5 minutes of my time he gave me his Sabretec bartering number and told me I could use $50 of his account. How cool is that?

Ohhh it’s a new episode of Desperate Housewives tonight. Don’t let me forget. Oh hell, I’ll just go set my VCR now, that’s easier. I’m so tired these days I’ll be in bed before it airs anyway. I need my beauty sleep just in case I see AH tomorrow morning!

Well, life has been pretty quiet lately so not much to report. Next weekend however… different story!! Woo hooooooo it’s going to be fun (I’m heading to Medicine Hat to visit my friend Kim and go see the Polyjesters!!)

Happy Easter! Now if Spring weather would just show up in Calgary…
