My Favourite Things!
November 23rd, 2004
Anyone breaking into a certain Julie Andrews song from ‘The Sound of Music’?…. No? Yeah, me neither.
Oprah did her Favourite Things show yesterday. I love that show!! The audience goes NUTS, and yesterday’s was an audience full of very deserving teachers. It was SO much fun, watching everyone scream and cry and shake as they were presented with amazing gift after gift after gift! And it got me thinking about some of my favourite things. Unlike Oprah, I can’t afford to buy (or I should say ‘acquire’) these things to share with my viewing audience (that’s you), but also unlike Oprah, my favourite things usually fall into the category of “you can afford this yourself!”
Rotorua Mud Soap/Masks and Lanolin Cream from New Zealand - My favourite skin care! That’s all I use, that’s my very simple and inexpensive secret
Purdy’s Chocolate - The best chocolate Iive ever had (in this country!) Yup, it actually beats out Bernard Callebaut for me, which I never thought would happen. Thanks Lisa! (I mean… DAMN YOU LISA!
)
Tranquil Moments by Avon - I love this scent… I don’t wear perfume, I use this fragrance mist… and I get the shower gel and lotion sometimes too and layer it. It’s not potent, it’s really soft and I get compliments all the time (from men and women, and cab drivers lol)
Spectrum Naturals Organic Coconut Oil - This is something rather new to me, and wow, I can already feel a difference in my health. The benefits of coconut oil are very impressive, as Dr. Mercola outlines here. My energy appears to have literally tripled in the past two days, and I think this might be why!
The Polyjesters - Duh. My favourite band. My favourite boys. My favourite boy band ha ha ha
Papaya Body Butter from the Body Shop - Bye-bye dry skin. This stuff is awesome and smells great!
Silver Puppy - My Colloidal Silver generator. Drinking colloidal silver has prevented me from getting ANY colds or a flu or even a sniffle this past year (I started it a year ago exactly), and it is slowly but surely working on other areas of my healing. It’s the cheapest therapy I do and is a cure-all and prevention for so many things.
Melatonin - Hello, sleep!!
Chet Baker - Candlelight, a glass of wine, and Chet on the stereo. Mmmmmmm
Music, in general, is a favourite thing of mine of course. The list on the right is just a small fraction of what I listen to!
400 Thread Count bed sheets - My friend’s sister got her these from Target in the States on sale for $40 (what a great price!!) and I slept on them at her house one night. I will never forget it. Best sleep ever!! If you think thread count doesn’t make much difference, guess again!!
Grocery delivery services!! For me, the convenience of ordering groceries online and having them delivered right to my door is one of the best things ever. Oh, and online banking!! What I would do without these two services is beyond me!!
Yoplait Source Fruit at the Bottom yogurt - Since the first time I tried it I have been eating one almost every day, and I rarely ate yogurt before. The blueberry is the best!
Okay, well, I can’t think of anything else worth putting here right now, if I do I might add it. Or not, this is a pretty long list as it is.
I think I have procrastinated working on this business plan tonight for long enough though
OOO the coconut oil seems like something I should be getting in to!! I always need energy and tend to have natural energy, but lately, I have been dragging by my heels. Thanks for posting that-oh and I will take an order of everything you mentioned, please! lol
Great list! Why do you all have online grocery shopping?! I WANT ONLINE GROCERY SHOPPING!! How do I find that? lol
